Week Two: Tuesday 3/26

Second night of games in the Midwest Freight Forwarders Volleyball Tournament - and it did not disappoint! On court 1, we had the Rhenus team led by Will Kim taking on CEVA ground. Both teams showed up in their brand new and fancy drip which clearly was the envy of all!

You could tell that Rhenus had been practicing, strategy was down tight and they were ready to play! We had some great plays, CEVA started out strong taking an 8 point lead - but then Rhenus found their mojo and swept CEVA Ground rather fast and it was a 2-0 W.

On court 2 we had CEVA Air & Sea vs Mainfreight. CEVA Air & Sea also in crisp new jerseys, while Mainfreight's jerseys are still enroute for next week's game! What they lacked in drip, they made up for in HEIGHT! Seems like everyone on the team is 6 feet + .... and this led to a battle royal against the experienced CEVA who won against Maersk last week. First set was extremely close, 5-5 .... 10-10 .... 15-15 .... but experience took the W with CEVA winning the first set 25-19. Mainfreight regrouped, adjusted their strategy and once again played hard in the second set. However CEVA also won this one 25-19. For a 2-0 win. I personally chuck this one up as Mainfreight is just getting warmed up, and I dub them a team to watch out for this year!

Happy hour afterwards was as always at T-Woods and last night sponsored by Caliber

Week One: 03/19

Last night was the kick off for the 2025 Midwest Freight Forwarders Volleyball Tournament! We had  the newcomers Maersk taking on a seasoned CEVA team.

Things are definitely getting a little more professional this year! Both teams showed up with company shirts, coordinated lists of players and with strategies and positions laid out!

First set, CEVA showed their dominance as it was clear the Maersk team had not really played together as a team prior... CEVA won easy with 25-8 ..... Next set however Maersk found the team spirit and made it clear they came to PLAY! All of a sudden they were ahead 18-10 ..... CEVA came back to tie 18-18 ..... .... 19-18 ..... 19-19 .... etc.... But at the end CEVA took the W with 25-23. Great first evening of games.

Happy hours was as always at T-Woods and sponsored by Caliber!

Thanks to all who came out - the tournament is officially kicked off! Stay tuned for next week's games!
